Bored George warranties cover manufacturing faults only - that is, defects in materials or workmanship present at the time your sunglasses were made.

Warranty Period

Sunglasses are covered by a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase.

Exclusion: Outlet sunglasses, including seconds and samples; are covered by a 2-month warranty from the date of purchase.

What Is Covered

Your warranty covers genuine manufacturing faults. If your lenses are affected by a manufacturing fault within the first 12 months of purchase, we’ll replace them free of charge. Please note: this does not include scratched lenses or damage caused by general use.

What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not cover damage or faults that fall outside of a manufacturing defect, including but not limited to:

  1. General wear and tear from everyday use
  2. Accidental damage, impact, or breakage (for example, snapped hinges or arms, scratched or cracked lenses caused by drops or pressure)
  3. Damage caused by misuse, improper storage, or failure to follow care instructions
  4. Cosmetic wear that does not affect the function of the sunglasses
  5. Loss or theft

Making a Warranty Claim

To submit a warranty claim, please use our portal.

Our team will assess your claim and, where a manufacturing fault is confirmed, arrange a repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate. Claims that are found to be the result of wear and tear or accidental damage will not be approved under warranty.

This warranty applies in addition to your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.
